Hand-made terrarium from Berlin, minimalistic terrarium with Asparagus setaceus ‘Plumosus’. As each capsule gardens is a self-efficient ecosystem to green your place, whether is your home or office.

The capsule belongs to the collection Forest/Minilandschaften.

The plant which decorates that terrarium is  Asparagus setaceus ‘Plumosus’ and it is native to Souther Africa. Known mostly as common asparagus fern, is named also a lace fern, which serve also as a perfect description of its foliage. Also the Latin description ‘setaceus‘, deriving  from  saeta “hair” or “bristle”, hence “hairy”, would be quite adequate.  Despite its common name, the plant is not a true fern but has leaves that resemble one.

It simple, minimalistic and peaceful. Is great if you looking for something that allows your mind and eyes to relax and forget about daily hustle and bustle. Last but not at least, the glass of this terrarium has only 19cm diameter which makes it perfect for office desk, as it doesn’t require much space.

This terrarium is hand made in Berlin, inside of recycled eco-glass which has a slightly greenish tint and tiny air bubbles within its structure. The capsule is closed with a cork lid.

Each capsule has its own name, meet Helen.

Short care tips for terrariums/flaschengarten:

Water 2 to 3 times a year on average, depending on the moisture level inside of the terrarium.

Prune once a year – just a bit. The ivy and fern could need some cut.

Keep out of direct sunlight.
