Green self-efficient ecosystem with bonsai as a centrepiece, finished with moss and gravel.
Ficus is one of the easiest species to start with bonsai art. Usually sensitive to draft and overwatering, inside of capsule he finds himself in his own comfort zone. He likes to get a haircut done from time to time (preferably in springtime, mid-March till the end of April), but you won’t meet any other bonsai more patience with your first cuts. He is super easy going and thriving with most conditions, are far as it is not in direct sunlight 🙂
Worth mentioning is also fact that this species of evergreen tropical fig produce aerial roots once humidity is high enough (at least 80% of humidity). The process is really fast, so don’t be surprised as one day you notice tiny white roots emerging from branches or trunk. They rapidly reach moss or soil and start to dig even deeper. After some time they turn brown and start to resemble Angkor Wat trees with twist and tassels of roots.

Short care tips for terrarium/flaschengarten:
Water 1 to 2 times a year on average depending on the moisture level of the moss.
Prune once a year, in early spring, preferably in March/April
Keep out of direct sunlight and at least 1m from the windows
