Plant compositions: Dypsis Lutescens, Hemionitis arifolia, Calathea Makoyana, moss, gravel, soil.

The capsule belongs to the collection Gardens. In that collection inside of the terrarium, we will find the miniature garden made of dwarf species of plants with very decorative and tiny foliage.

The tallest plant of that composition, Dypsis Lutescens, is native to Madagascar.  It is commonly named golden cane palm, areca palm, yellow palm or butterfly palm. It has long and narrow leaves in the most intensive green shade of green.

The eye-catcher o this terrarium, full of violet shades, Calathea Makoyana. The decorative muster of Calathea has two faces, as she moves her leaves up and down during a day cycle – in the evening the leaves are folded together and in the morning they are unfolded again. It is known under two common names: Peacock Plant and Cathedral Windows, both making a good point. As many other members of the Marantaceae family belongs to the prayer-plants, also fold up at night, showing the purple underside of the leaves.

Additional green adds a fern, with atypical leaves in form of hearts. Hemionitis arifolia bring intensive, fresh greenHeart leaf fern is a shade dwelling, high humidity dependent plant and as a houseplant is rather a challenging one. Luckily, it is definitely a terrarium lover, so, if you ever struggle with it in your apartment, now you will be a really proud plant-parent.

This terrarium is hand made in Berlin, inside of the hand-made floristic glass. The capsule is closed with a cork lid.

Each capsule has its own name, meet Victoria.
